Ingredients for the homemade lemonade
- 4 lemons juiced/squeezed - Or use 1 cup of store-bought lemonade.
- 1 cup water
Ingredients for Wakanda food vibranium drink
- ¼ cup dried butterfly pea flowers
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups water
- 4 ice cubes (approximately)
- 1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers to garnish
- 2 oz ginger beer *Optional – nonalcoholic ginger beer (or boozy ginger beer!)
Instructions
Instructions for the homemade lemonade
- Squeeze the lemon juice of 4 lemons and combine it with the 1 cup of water in a tall glass or a small pitcher.
- Remove any seeds that may come from the lemon squeeze.
- Stir the lemonade mixture and then set it aside.
Instructions for Wakanda food vibranium drink (butterfly pea tea)
- Open the Instant Pot lid and pour the water into the stainless steel inner pot. (Or, if using the stovetop, add the ¼ cup of dried butterfly pea flowers, ½ cup of sugar, and 1 ½ cups of water to a pot on medium-high heat. Steep/soak the flowers until the water boils, and then move on to step 8.)
- Stir in the sugar and add the loose flowers.
- Close the Instant Pot lid (ensure the valve is up – in the position for sealing) and pressure cook on high for 4 minutes.
- When cooking is finished, allow a natural pressure release for 15 minutes.
- To open the Instant Pot lid, move the valve to ‘venting’ and manually release any remaining pressure, if applicable.
- Using oven mitts, remove the inner pot from the Instant Pot burner.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the loose flowers from the pot.
- Pour the tea into a glass with ice, then pour in the set-aside homemade (or store-bought) lemonade.
- Watch the color of the vibranium drink change from dark blue to a beautiful royal purple!
- Optionally, add 1 ounce of nonalcoholic ginger beer (or boozy ginger beer!) for a flavorful kick!
- Serve Wakanda vibranium drink over ice, with a teaspoon of dried butterfly pea flowers on top to garnish, and enjoy!
