Equipment

  • Instant Pot Duo or Instant Pot Duo Nova
  • Instant Pot trivet inner rack
  • aluminum foil (I've also heard of parchment paper being used in place of foil, but I've never tried it to know if it affects the cooking time.)

Ingredients

Burger Ingredients

  • 4 burger patties (thawed) (or 1 pound of 80/20 ground beef for handmade patties)
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning salt Your favorite all-purpose seasoning salt (I used Famous Dave’s Steak & Burger Seasoning)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 4 burger buns

Juicy Ranch Burgers Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 3 teaspoons steak sauce
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • ¾ cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Mix the ground beef, seasoning salt, pepper, ranch dressing, steak sauce, horseradish and cheese in a medium-size mixing bowl and mix well until combined.
If using pre-made burger patties, brush the ranch sauce mixture on both sides of each hamburger patty.
Pro tip: It may be easier to add the ranch sauce to the burger patties in step 3 on the foil.
  • Form 4 hamburger patties with the ground beef mixture.
  • Wrap each burger in foil.
  • Pour water into the Instant Pot stainless steel inner pot.
  • Place the Instant Pot trivet inner rack inside the inner pot.
  • Place the foil wrapped burgers on the rack.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid (make sure the valve is in the sealing position – up) and pressure cook on high for 10 minutes.
  • When the cooking time is finished, allow a natural release of pressure for at least 5 minutes.
  • To open the Instant Pot lid, move the valve to ‘venting’ and manually release any remaining pressure, if applicable.
  • Remove the burgers from the inner pot and unwrap the foil.
  • Place burgers on buns, serve with your favorite condiments and enjoy!
  • (Frozen burger patty instructions are below.)
