Please have a look over these helpful FAQs
Just like magic, your question may already have an answer here!
(Soul Food Recipes + Instant Pot = MAGIC!)
Q: I’m a brand or editor that would love to work with you. Do you accept samples or do sponsored posts?
A: Yes, Shaunda Necole and The Soul Food Pot are available for freelance writing and recipe development and open to sponsored posts, giveaways, product reviews, brand ambassadorships, ads and more!
Please contact Johanna Voss, my talent manager and agent: Johanna@johannavoss.com, and you can also check out my Work With Me page HERE.
I always disclose sponsorships and brand partner relationships with a disclaimer at the beginning of the post.
Honesty and transparency are very important to me, so freebies or compensation will never “buy” a positive review.
I welcome the opportunity to promote brands, products and services that align with my mission and only promote products I think you’d like too!
Q: Do you accept guest posts?
A: For guest post consideration, please send an email with your idea to hey@shaundanecole.com.
Q: I really like your site! Who do you use to host your blog, and who designed your site?
A: Thank you! I have a Wordpress site, and Wordpress is the framework that I always recommend for bloggers at all levels!
Then, Grayson Bell’s amazing team at iMark Interactive designed my site theme.
I started with Bluehost and used them until my traffic reached over 20,000 page views monthly. Then I upgraded to non-shared hosting by WPX to prepare for monetizing my site with Mediavine display ads.
If you’re just starting, Bluehost is the way to go! It’s the best in price, service is great and the easiest option for beginning bloggers. (Plus, they give you your domain name for free if you decide to host with them!)
Q. How about your pictures? Who’s your photographer?
A: Many of my favorite photos are by my daughter, All Hair By Destiny. She’s a photographer, hairstylist, artist, and creator extraordinaire. She’s also to credit for the start of my blog!
Currently, I work with Hampton Road’s finest photographer, Latoya Henderson.
You can also purchase the custom Lightroom preset I created HERE that I use to achieve all of my wildly colorful photos!
Q: Can I use your pictures on my site?
A: Yes, absolutely! *But only if you do this.*
If you use one of my photos on your site, you must credit the photo with two links back to Shaunda Necole.
Here’s how to do that:
1. One link back to the specific post or page the image came from.
2. And a second link back to TheSoulFoodPot.com.
– You might say something like, “Get the secrets to make soul food baked mac and cheese at TheSoulFoodPot.com.”
Thanks for sharing!
Q: What about blog posts? Can I use your articles on my website or blog?
A: Thanks so much for asking. I’m happy you want to share my posts!
Unfortunately, at this time, I do not allow republication of my articles or posts without prior consent since my posts include a mix of sponsored and contractual content (Learn more about my sponsored brand partnerships and how I get paid to be me! –> HERE).
– However, you are welcome to link to the article or page without reposting the content.
– For example, rather than copy-and-pasting the article’s content, you might say something like, “I love The Soul Food Pot’s quick & easy recipe for soul food collard greens in the Instant Pot.”
Q: How about your recipe nutritional information. How accurate is it?
A: Good question! On this site, I use WP Recipe Maker for my recipe cards.
On my lifestyle blog, ShaundaNecole.com I use Mediavine’s Create, a free recipe plugin.
Here’s my recipe & nutritional information disclaimer:
