Can you make iced tea in the Instant Pot?
The Instant Pot is an all-in-one solution for making iced tea. With its timer and the ability to add all ingredients at once, it’s more efficient and resourceful than using a tea kettle or making stovetop Southern sweet tea.
Can you put a tea bag in a pressure cooker?
You can add tea bags to the pressure cooker. As an all-in-one appliance, you can add tea bags and other ingredients to make Instant Pot Southern iced tea as a one-pot method!
Ingredients
Understanding the efficient capabilities of the Instant Pot, you can use these easy ingredients to create a refreshing batch of classic Southern iced tea.
- Black tea bags – Ensure a robust flavor that forms the ideal base for any homemade iced tea.
- Cold water – Cold water is vital for Instant Pot iced tea, ensuring a crisp infusion.
- Granulated sugar – Ensures each sip is not bitter. It can be adjusted to match your sweetness preference.
- Baking soda – An unassuming kitchen staple that smooths out any bitterness, leaving each sip of iced tea bursting with enhanced flavor.
Why do you use baking soda?
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, neutralizes acids, including the tannic acid found in tea. This unique property not only improves the taste of the tea but also prolongs its shelf life.
