It’s no secret that moscato wines have found a younger, hipper (and browner) audience with Black people.
Black folks like sweet recipes, so it’s no wonder that we’ve signed on for this fruity and often sparkly Italian wine. And like we always do, we starting creating our own Black folks’ recipes – like moscato sangria!

Instructions for moscato sangria
- Chop the Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples into small cubes for ease in serving in glasses. Cut the rosemary sprig into enough pieces to garnish each drink, along with a sprig to add in at step three.
- Pour all the ingredients into a punch bowl or serving pitcher.
- Mix all the ingredients by stirring to dissolve most of the sugar.
- Chill for an hour to allow the sugar to fully dissolve and the rosemary to infuse into the mixture to balance the sweetness.
- Flock the rosemary by lightly wetting a sprig and sprinkling with sugar.
- Serve and enjoy!
